This week, Sarah told us that we would be finding out how to make twig charcoal. She first challenged us to find twigs from as many different kinds of trees as could on our walk around the local area. We were very excited to walk up past the pond where we saw willow trees and even some ducks dabbling in the chilly water. We collected three large bags of twigs so our job was to sort them back in the classroom to see which would be the most useful to burn for making our charcoal. We can’t wait to see our tins of twigs again next time Sarah comes because our very own homemade charcoal will be in there ready for us to use!
