We had been eagerly looking forward to Sarah, the community artist’s, next visit to our class. As promised, she brought with her the tins of twigs we had collected last time. She showed us the photographs of our tins in the fire and opened them up to show us the charcoal we had made! It was a sunny afternoon so we were able to go out onto the playground to have a go at using the homemade charcoal produced by our different types of twigs. We had great fun doing rubbings and making some of our own pictures based on shapes. Just look how black our hands got!
