Understanding Fires and Enjoying Hot Chocolate
This week we learned about how fires need fuel, oxygen and heat to burn. We all had a few turns in groups at using a firesteel to try and light our own small fires. Most of us found it really tricky but this did not stop us from persevering! Once we had our large campfire burning, we used the Kelly kettle to boil water over it. We were amazed to discover that the Kelly kettle has a hole through the middle of it and we all had a really go at suggesting how the water would stay in it. We thoroughly enjoyed drinking our warm hot chocolate at the end of the session.
